Who is this grant open to?
This grant is open to filmmakers in Southeast Asia with minimally 1-2 short/feature films in your portfolio.

How much are your grants?
Grant sizes are up to USD 10,000.

When do you assess applications?
Applications are reviewed year-round.

At what stage of the filmmaking process can I apply?
We welcome applications across the filmmaking process - development, pre-production, production, post-production, distribution and marketing.

How much time do I have to complete my project?
This will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, in discussion with the Coastal Natives team on agreed milestones.

Can you connect me to a non-profit in the region to tell their story?
Absolutely, we have a wide network of marine conservation partners in the region that we would welcome the opportunity to connect you to.

Can you suggest some ocean impact themes you are interested in exploring?
Themes include spotlighting youth changemakers, indigenous laws and traditions to protect the ocean e.g. Sasi, the impact of human activities on the ocean, wildlife protection, eco-tourism. We welcome projects that explore the complexities of conservation.

Will I be required to provide project updates?
If you receive a grant from us, you may be required to provide updates at predetermined milestones. Requirements will be articulated in our award letter after discussing your film project with you and your team.
